Smart Scheduler is a key milestone in automating yield management, enabling users to optimize their promotional strategies in real-time. Before its implementation, users had to manually create and manage offers, leading to inefficiencies and reliance on estimations rather than data-driven decisions.

Understanding the Problem
Before Smart Scheduler, users had to manually create and manage promotions without automation or data-driven guidance. This resulted in inefficiencies, as they relied on personal estimations rather than real-time performance insights. The challenge was to design an intuitive system that allowed users to automate and optimize their promotional strategies effortlessly.

Key Features & UX Challenges

Heatmap-Assisted Scenario Selection
To further support strategic planning, we introduced a heatmap feature that visually represented optimal offer timings based on past performance and predicted demand. This gave users a clear, data-driven way to refine their promotional strategies. The challenge was presenting complex data in an intuitive way, ensuring accessibility for all users.
Personalized Own Objectives
Users needed a more granular way to control offer activation, depending on factors such as time period, sales channel, or even manual adjustments. We implemented a system that allowed them to set personalized objectives and automate activation rules accordingly. The challenge was balancing automation with user control, ensuring that advanced users had enough flexibility while keeping the system accessible for beginners.
Create Several Scenarios in a Simple Form
Previously, users could only create individual promotions, which was time-consuming and lacked strategic depth. The Smart Scheduler introduced the ability to create multiple offer scenarios (up to six) within a single form. This change allowed users to test and adapt different strategies effortlessly. The biggest UX challenge was ensuring that the interface remained simple despite the added flexibility.

Interaction & Visual Feedback

Conflict Detection & Resolution
Managing multiple offers risked conflicts, where overlapping promotions could reduce profitability. To prevent this, we introduced real-time conflict detection alerts, guiding users toward optimal scheduling decisions. Additionally, a heatmap visualization helped users identify the best-performing time slots for their promotions.

Impact & Learnings

Results
The implementation of Smart Scheduler had a significant impact:
