Understanding the Problem

Managing health insurance can be a complex and frustrating experience for users, often involving multiple platforms, paperwork, and delays in accessing reimbursements. The goal was to create a seamless digital experience that allows users to efficiently track their coverage, submit claims, and access healthcare services from a single, user-friendly interface. The challenge was ensuring clarity and accessibility, particularly for users unfamiliar with digital insurance platforms.

iOS App Development

The primary focus was on designing and developing an iOS app that would serve as a central hub for health insurance management. Users could easily submit claims, view reimbursements, access their policy details, and find healthcare providers nearby. The biggest UX challenge was balancing comprehensive features with a simple, intuitive navigation flow.

Web App Porting

After the successful launch of the iOS app, I worked on adapting it into a fully functional web app. The challenge here was ensuring a consistent user experience across both platforms while optimizing interactions for larger screens and different user behaviors.

Claim Submission & Real-Time Tracking

A major pain point for users was the uncertainty around claim processing times. To address this, we introduced a guided claim submission process with real-time tracking, giving users visibility into their reimbursement status. The challenge was designing a step-by-step flow that was both efficient and informative without overwhelming the user.

Policy & Coverage Management

Users needed quick access to their health insurance details. We created a dashboard where they could easily review their plan, understand their coverage, and get personalized recommendations. The challenge was presenting complex insurance data in a digestible and engaging way.

Smart Notifications & Reminders

To improve user engagement and reduce missed deadlines, we implemented smart notifications reminding users about claim deadlines, upcoming appointments, and policy renewals. The challenge was ensuring these alerts were helpful without being intrusive.

Mobile & Web Consistency

Adapting a mobile experience to a web format required careful design decisions. We focused on responsive layouts, intuitive navigation, and seamless synchronization between devices to maintain a unified user experience.
