Nimbo: WebGL AI Weather Dashboard

An experiment: what if a weather app showed you the sky instead of icons? Nimbo is an AI weather dashboard concept where the background is a live sky. The clouds are rendered in real time with WebGL shaders, not videos or stock footage, and the whole interface reacts to the time of day.

Most weather apps reduce the sky to a small icon and a number. I wanted the sky itself to be the interface, so you feel the weather first and then read the details, while keeping a data-rich dashboard calm and easy to scan.

Sky view and Forecast view – A toggle between the live sky and a classic forecast, plus an "Ask AI" button.

Hourly temperature – A smooth curve with the current reading and an AI note, such as when the day will peak.

Nearby cities – Colombo, Kandy and Galle with live temperatures and conditions.

Live rain radar – A compact radar card showing nearby rain cells.

Key readings – UV index, humidity and air quality, with cloud cover, visibility and wind labelled right on the sky.

24-hour forecast – A bar chart with sunrise, sunset, rain chance and "feels like", next to a wind compass.

In the film the scene moves through a full day: bright morning, golden sunset, then a starry night with the moon rising over misty mountains. The UI changes with it. The temperature curve, UV, humidity, wind, rain radar and city temperatures all update as the hours pass, and an AI note types out the forecast for the night.

Glass cards that pick up the sky's colours – Panels stay readable while taking on the mood of each hour.

Data that feels alive – Numbers and charts move with time instead of sitting as static values.

Calm density – A busy dashboard that stays easy to read, with one clear focal point at a time.

Ideas for next steps include storm, rain and snow modes.
