Splen, formerly Brillo, grew out of a problem we knew from running a studio. Client details, project work and invoices often sit in separate tools. Keeping them up to date means copying the same information between systems.
We took on product strategy, interface design in Figma and application development. The original project also included a Framer marketing website. This is our own product, not a client commission.
Connect the work behind the dashboard
The product work covers clients, pipeline, projects, tasks and invoices. We designed these around a connected workflow. A client in the pipeline becomes a project, that project generates invoices, and invoice data feeds the revenue dashboard.
The dashboard brings project counts and financial information into one view. We grouped the navigation around the work people need to do, with separate areas for client records, finance and tasks.
Account for work across currencies
The design includes multi-currency support because a studio may bill different clients in different currencies. The dashboard brings that revenue into one view rather than asking users to maintain a separate spreadsheet for each currency.
We designed the application in Figma and developed it is Nextjs. Our responsibility remained reviewing the implementation and deciding what to ship.
Multi-currency from day one.
Most freelance tools assume you bill in one currency. The reality is messier: a designer in India might invoice clients in USD, EUR, and GBP in the same month. Brillo handles multi-currency as a core primitive, not an upgrade tier. Revenue rolls up correctly across currencies and the dashboard reflects the full picture.
Our own CRM and invoicing product, previously called Brillo. This case covers the product design, connected workflows and development work shown in the gallery.
