RageMail, a calmer way to handle the emails we shouldn’t send yet Built for the Builder.io Challenge and awarded 4th place.
The Challenge We’ve all typed emails we probably shouldn’t send when we’re upset. The goal was to design a simple, emotionally intuitive tool that helps users pause, cool down, and avoid impulsive messages, all within a rapid 48-hour build window.
The Solution I designed a minimal, calming interface with a three-step flow:
Rage Inbox - A no-send space where you can type the unfiltered version of your message without worrying about it actually going anywhere. The bold red screen and background music make it a fun, slightly dramatic moment to get everything out safely. Cooldown Screen - A built-in 2-hour cooldown that temporarily locks the message, preventing impulsive edits or sends while emotions settle. Inbox Mode - See your draft exactly how the recipient would view it. If you still want to send it, just hit yes and your email app opens automatically, already filled out with the recipient, subject line, and message. All that’s left to do is press Send.
