Canva Creators

Canva is a graphic design platform used by over 65 million users worldwide. Canva has launched a marketplace allowing professional graphic designers to contribute layouts and earn royalties from templates usages. This program is still in beta mode, so creators are picked to design templates for Canva. Templates created will be displayed on the creator's Profile Page – a unique storefront on Canva.

Mostly I design templates for social media posts since I've been a social media designer for years, and it's Canva most popular one. At first, I just only focused on Instagram posts. However, looking at the current Canva libraries, there is still a lot of potentials to be explored. So users can use different designs than 'usual' templates and follow current trends. Here are the templates that I made:

I guess you also noticed that sometimes the templates in Canva are easy to guess. Not every design, but most of them. I wanted to make a template that people can use, but it looks like it's not a template. Well... I'll break down each type of design here.

For Instagram templates, I made a more modern and minimalist look with a digital minimalism interface. Mostly, I've got the inspiration from the Apple user interface. I used gradients for most of my templates and sometimes pastel. You can find different types of styles that I made for Instagram posts:

• Notifications/reminders

• Search bar

• Instagram features inspired (countdown, questions, and poll)

• Music/podcast interface

• and other!

I made the Instagram reels templates in different styles with Instagram posts/stories. I made them with minimalist-aesthetic style and elegant typography.

For the Youtube templates, I want to make it more natural with their pictures/videos and add a little typography. The main styles for Youtube templates are minimalist, aesthetic, and elegant.

I got a lot of inspiration from Korean vloggers for Youtube thumbnails. I use 2-4 photo grids with minimalist-elegant typography to make it more aesthetic and stand out. These are fully customizable so that they can change them to their pictures.

Why do I choose more 'pictures' than 'designs'? Youtube thumbnail is one of the main factors people click on the video. Less is more.The text covers less than 20% of the image. This kind of template also makes the imagery simple and effective as the photo grids show us what's happening in the video or, let's say, the highlights of their video.

Like Youtube thumbnails, I also focus on video-based intros and outros with minimalist typography to make it more visually appealing. I created film cameras, camera recording screens, movie-like openings, and border frames, so users can choose this style that is different from other templates.

I used photo borders for the music album cover templates with bold typography. I chose this style because I wanted to make the music vibes show through their pictures but keep it aesthetic and trendy.

Total exports for 2022 is 1M+. Seeing many people use my templates makes me want to create more and support them through impactful and visually appealing templates that are easy to customize with Canva! 👩🏻‍💻✨
