Prometheus: a modern moving platform with instant quote estimates

Redesigned and built a moving company's website in React to reduce drop-offs and communicate trust in a market where outdated sites signal financial instability

Description

Moving company websites tend to make customers wait for quotes or call before they can plan a move. Prometheus was designed to remove that friction.
I designed the user experience from the ground up and built a responsive React application that lets users estimate moving costs, book their move, and resume unfinished bookings later. I also integrated EmailJS to capture quote and booking information without requiring a traditional backend.

Strategy:

The old site failed on three fronts: it looked abandoned, wasn't fully responsive, and made users reach out to the business on alternate channels for accurate quotes, instead of getting that from the site.
My redesign fixed each systematically.

Solution:

I saw a company with solid service being held back by a website that actively undermined their credibility. This was an opportunity to show how strategic design and modern development can reposition a business.
So I fixed the three main issues:
I redesigned the information architecture of the website to surface value and trust immediately.
The old site structure hid the most important information
The new homepage structure prioritises conversion
The website copy was completely rewritten to guide users to trust the business and make a buying decision
I built a booking flow that eliminates re-entry friction at every step, solving drop-offs.
Typical competitors had flows where users had to re-enter information whenever they had a break from the quote or booking
The new flow implemented a persistent state approach, storing data that users enter without the use for backend and enabling them resume either booking or getting a quote from multiple points.
Utilized react state management, local storage and URL parameters to ensure that data persists through page refreshes and email clicks. I also integrated email that retained quote data.
I worked on a transparent region-specific pricing formula
Pricing formula took location distance + volume + labor costs into consideration
Made this transparent by putting it front and center in both booking and quote flows, so users know what to expect every time.

Impact:

Industry benchmarks show ~20% drop-off at each data re-entry point. By maintaining context across the entire journey, this flow could reduce abandonment by 25-35%.
