Carpet Bright UK

Website Design & Ongoing Maintenance

Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning  ·  London, Kent & Surrey  ·  50,000+ Customers

Designed the website for the UK’s most reviewed carpet cleaning company, a business with over 22,000 five-star Trustpilot reviews, voted #1 in London, Kent & Surrey, and continues to support them with ongoing site maintenance as the business grows.

 About the Client

Carpet Bright UK is one of the most established and highly reviewed professional cleaning companies in the United Kingdom. Operating from two offices, Bromley, Kent, and Croydon, Surrey, they serve homeowners, landlords, and commercial clients across London and the Home Counties, offering a comprehensive range of cleaning services including carpet, upholstery, rug, mattress, and curtain cleaning, as well as premium stain protection treatments.
The business has built an exceptional reputation over many years of operation. With more than 22,000 verified five-star reviews on Trustpilot and a further 3,400+ on Reviews.co.uk, Carpet Bright UK is consistently voted the number one carpet cleaning company across London, Kent, and Surrey. Their client base includes 50,000+ satisfied customers, and they have been trusted by major brands including Waitrose, McDonald’s, and AO.
Despite this level of market credibility, the business needed a website that could adequately reflect their authority, convert first-time visitors who found them through local search, and clearly communicate the breadth of their services to both residential and commercial audiences.

The Challenges

Carpet Bright UK had an impressive offline reputation, but its website was not converting it into online bookings at the rate the business deserved. Despite being the most reviewed carpet cleaning company in their region, first-time visitors to the site had no immediate way to recognise that authority. The social proof the business had worked hard to build, thousands of reviews across multiple platforms, was not being leveraged effectively in the design.
Several specific problems were identified across the site:
No clear trust hierarchy on the homepage, the volume of five-star reviews, and the #1 ranked status were not immediately visible to someone landing on the site for the first time
Service pages lacked structure and depth; each service category needed its own clearly designed page that explained the process, benefits, and booking steps
The quote and booking journey were unclear; visitors who wanted to enquire were not guided effectively from intent to action
Multi-area coverage was difficult to navigate; users searching for cleaning in a specific town or borough could not easily confirm whether Carpet Bright UK served their area
The visual design did not reflect the professionalism and quality of the actual service, creating a credibility gap between the offline reputation and the online experience
Mobile performance was inconsistent, a significant proportion of local service searches are completed on a phone, and the site was not optimised for this journey

The core  problem: 22,000 five-star reviews and a #1 ranking meant nothing if a visitor couldn’t feel that trust within the first few seconds of landing on the website.

Solution

 The Design Approach

The redesign was built around a single principle: make every element of the page earn the visitor’s trust faster than a competitor could. With a business that had Carpet Bright UK’s level of verified social proof, the design job was less about inventing credibility and more about ensuring the credibility that already existed was impossible to miss.

 Homepage

The homepage was restructured to lead with authority. The hero section was designed to immediately establish three key points: who Carpet Bright UK is, what they offer, and why they are the best choice, all communicated through a clear headline, the Trustpilot badge, the five-star review count, and a single prominent ‘Get a Quote’ CTA above the fold. The review platforms (Trustpilot and Reviews.co.uk) were given prominent visual weight, making the 22,000+ reviews the first thing a visitor’s eye was drawn to after the headline.

Service Pages

Each service was assigned a dedicated page with a consistent structure: a service hero featuring a clear headline and booking CTA, a concise explanation of the cleaning process, a list of benefits, FAQs relevant to that service, and genuine customer testimonials specific to that treatment. This structure meant that a visitor landing on the Carpet Cleaning page via Google search found everything they needed to make a booking decision on a single page, without navigating elsewhere.

 Area Pages & Local SEO

Carpet Bright UK serves a large number of specific towns and boroughs across South London, Kent, and Surrey. Individual area pages were designed with a templated structure that communicated local service availability, included area-specific customer reviews where possible, and gave users a clear path to requesting a quote for their specific location. This approach also supported the business’s local SEO strategy.

Quote & Booking Flow

The free quote request journey was simplified to two steps: the user selects their service, enters their postcode and contact details, and submits. The CTA was made persistent across all pages, the desktop header, mobile sticky bar, and within each service page, so the path to enquiry was always within one tap, regardless of where the user was on the site.

Results

The redesigned website gave Carpet Bright UK a digital presence that matched the scale and quality of the business it had built offline. The key outcomes of the design work:

Trust on Landing

The homepage now leads with Trustpilot credibility, review volume, and the #1 ranking within the first viewport, giving new visitors immediate confidence before they have read a single line of body copy.

Service Clarity

Each of the six core services has its own structured page with process explanation, benefits, FAQs, and service-specific testimonials, enabling visitors to make an informed booking decision without leaving the page.

Quote Conversion

The quote request CTA is persistent across all pages on both desktop and mobile, reducing the number of steps between intent and enquiry to a minimum and eliminating the dead ends that existed in the previous site.

Local Coverage

Dedicated area pages for towns across London, Kent, and Surrey made it immediately clear to local searchers that Carpet Bright UK served their area, reducing bounce rates from geographically relevant traffic.

The Impact

Site Maintenance

Following the launch of the redesigned website, I have continued to support Carpet Bright UK with ongoing site maintenance. As the business grows, adding new service areas, updating seasonal promotions, and responding to changes in their service offering, the website needs to stay accurate, performant, and secure. I manage this continuously, ensuring the site always reflects the current state of the business and continues to support their online enquiry volume.
