Bringing people together with MDE Community

MDE Community is the go-to community for digital nomads, expats and locals wanting to connect and attend events in Medellin. More than that, it seeks to provide an inclusive and collaborative network that builds meaningful connections and creates opportunities for locals and foreigners alike to promote personal growth, community building, and social impact.

With the community overwhelmed with the influx of events on numerous WhatsApp groups, the founder, Mayan, had a vision to build a web platform that makes finding, tracking and attending events a lot easier.

Design the MVP (web app but mobile friendly!) featuring core features such as directory of communities and calendar of events in Medellin.

As the sole product designer, I was tasked to realise the whole design process - from user research to a fully-functional MVP:

Ran user research (focus group) to uncover current pain points and identify opportunities for the community

Designed wireframes and prototype for both core features

Collaborated with engineers to realise the MVP
