Forty emails arrive before nine. By the time you open the inbox, every one of them is already labelled, given an owner and a deadline, with the amounts and dates pulled out into the summary. You read the one that had to be read first, not the one that happens to be on top.
What interrupts a person
Only two things: a complaint and a new enquiry. Everything else waits in its label until someone chooses to look. A newsletter has never needed to interrupt anyone, and neither has a delivery notification.
