If you're doing digital marketing and you're trying to prove offers, grow your business or sell more online, then you're probably using some form of promotion and it is most likely discounting. Here's the thing though, discounting isn't always necessary.
Discounting can be effective in some cases but it can also become like a drug. Your customers get trained to wait for discounts, and discounting makes your brand or business seem like it is devalued. Every time you need to re-invigorate sales you have to go back to lowering prices to get your fix. This sucks! Don't do it! In this video, I go over 3 specific strategies you can use to sell more without having to resort to discounting.
3 specific strategies to try instead of discounting are to offer
Status- offering a way for clients to have higher status from either a VIP club or membership or even as simple as a punch card of a different color will make your clients feel valued and important.
Access- Access can actually work together with status if you have a VIP membership only VIPs get special access to certain products, services,etc.
Convenience- Everyone wants things in their lives to be easier and more convenient. If you can add a sense of convenience to your services you will be able to add even more value.
