Niviru needed a display for their fragrance collaboration with Misho. Not a generic stand, something that felt raw and material, built to survive a limited production run of 1,000 pieces.

The concept started from something real: a broken block of concrete. Instead of sculpting a fracture from imagination, the piece was 3D scanned to capture its exact volume and texture, and all modeling was built from that scan data.

A broken concrete texture is easy to fake and hard to manufacture. The surface had to survive the cement casting process itself, without losing the raw character that made the reference piece work in the first place, and without becoming too fragile for a real product people would handle in retail.

Every decision was checked against one question: does this still read as "broken concrete" once it's cast, not sculpted? The model was rendered first, not to sell the idea, but to test how the texture would actually behave once cast.

Led the design process from reference to production-ready geometry:

Scan-based modeling: a real broken concrete block 3D scanned to capture volume and fracture accurately, used as the base for all surfacing.

Texture engineering: developing a broken surface that reads correctly in the mold and survives the cement casting process.

Physical validation: multiple 3D printed prototypes to check proportions, the bottle's angle, balance, and the engraved NIVIRU x MISHO branding. Some things only show up in the hand.

Presentation design: placing the label diagonally on the bottle, later pushed further by the Niviru team with layered labeling.

The final stand went into production as a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, shipped as part of Niviru's collaboration with Misho.
