Smartwatch Concept - Ideation, Shoot & Packaging

Starting from a brief for a modern, sporty, and playful smartwatch, I took the concept through the full visual development cycle: form exploration, CMF variants, simulated product shoot, and packaging - all inside Vizcom, without a physical prototype or a CAD model.
The goal was to test how far a single tool could take a concept from initial direction to presentation-ready output.

The approach

The project ran in phases. Shape exploration first, locking the design language before touching color or material. Once the form was stable, CMF variants were tested in parallel across multiple colorways. The final phase simulated a product shoot and packaging - treating Vizcom as a pre-production visualization tool, not just a concept renderer.
Key decisions
Running the shoot simulation inside the same tool that generated the concept meant the lighting, material response, and product proportions stayed consistent from ideation to final image. No translation loss between concept and presentation. The packaging was designed with structural logic so it reads as a real deliverable, not a decorative afterthought.
Outcome
A complete product visualization package: form exploration canvas, CMF variants across two colorways, simulated product shoot, retail environment, and packaging visual. The kind of output a hardware startup needs to pressure-test a concept before committing to tooling.
What I learned
Taking a concept through to shoot simulation forces decisions that pure concept work avoids. You can't fake a bad proportion in a lifestyle context. The shoot phase is the first honest test of whether the design actually works.
