Porsche GT3 RS: From Class-A Surfaces to Cinematic Realism
This project reimagines the iconic Porsche 911 GT3 RS through a complete digital pipeline, merging automotive-grade Class-A surfacing with cinematic real-time visualization. Developed as my Master’s Final Project at Elisava, it was recognized with an award for its precision in surface modeling and its ability to translate engineering-level detail into photorealistic, emotionally powerful renders and animations.
Approach
Most car renders focus only on aesthetics. This project set out to go further: combining Class-A surface modeling precision with real-time visualization in Unreal Engine to create a digital Porsche GT3 RS that is as technically refined as it is visually striking.
The Strategic Challenge
The challenge was to achieve automotive-grade Class-A surfacing using Autodesk Alias, ensuring perfect curvature and reflections while maintaining a clean control point structure. At the same time, the visualization needed to highlight aerodynamics, details, and brand essence in dynamic renders.
Creative Execution
I developed the full 3D model in Alias, refining each surface with Class-A standards. Once the digital model was perfected, I moved into Unreal Engine for high-quality renders, animations, and real-time shots. The combination allowed both engineering validation and cinematic storytelling.
