Energana: Bringing a clean energy ecosystem to life through motion
Energana needed cinematic product animations for the hero sections of their energy platform website. I handled the full 3D pipeline: modeling, environment, lighting, and camera animation for each of the three products in their ecosystem.
Approach
Each product (solar panel, heat pump, EV charger) needed its own visual moment while still feeling part of a coherent system. The challenge was giving each piece enough personality to stand alone as a hero, while keeping a unified aesthetic language across all three. I built every element from scratch: the products, the architectural environment, the lighting setup, and the camera choreography.
The reference they provided was directional. The final look, feel, and execution were entirely developed on my side.
The Strategic Challenge
Energy products are functional by nature, which makes them hard to make aspirational. The goal was to close that gap, to show a heat pump or an EV charger and make it feel like something worth wanting, not just something that works. That required an environment and lighting language that felt architectural and considered, not clinical or catalog-like.
Each animation also had to work in a web context: short, loopable, immediately readable.
Creative Execution
Brief alignment and visual direction review
3D modeling of all three products from scratch (solar panel, heat pump, EV charger)
Lighting design: warm directional light, material definition
Camera animation and subtle product motion for each hero section
Final video delivery optimized for web
Results & Impact
The animations give each product its own visual identity while maintaining a consistent, premium aesthetic across the site. The result positions Energana's hardware as considered, modern objects, not commodity appliances. For a brand selling a transition to clean energy, that visual credibility matters.
