Turning brand identity into a physical retail presence
This project involved the design and fabrication of a retail perfume display for Niviru, a young fragrance brand looking to translate its digital identity into a strong physical presence inside stores.
My role covered the full process from concept development and 3D design to visual validation and small-series fabrication.
Approach
The project was approached as a close collaboration with the brand, focusing on clarity, brand alignment, and real-world use.
The goal was not only to design an eye-catching object, but to ensure the display felt coherent with Niviru’s values, worked in a retail environment, and could be realistically produced and used over time.
The Strategic Challenge
The main challenge was translating an abstract brand identity into a physical object.
Niviru knew what they wanted to express as a brand, but not yet how that should look in three dimensions. The display needed to feel distinctive without being loud, disruptive but still timeless, and robust enough for daily in-store interaction.
Creative Execution
Brand briefing & concept alignment
Concept sketching based on initial brand input
Multiple design proposals and form exploration
3D modeling of selected concepts
Shape, proportion and CMF comparison in KeyShot
Iterative refinement toward a more timeless geometric language
Dimension validation through realistic renders
Design for fabrication (metal + 3D printed parts)
Physical production of 3D printed components, including post-processing and finishing
Results & Impact
The final display combines a metal structure, referencing Niviru’s laboratory and formulation background, with 3D-printed elements painted in the brand’s signature Paris green, representing innovation and new technology.
The result is a subtle yet distinctive retail object that gives the brand strong presence in-store, supports the full 5-bottle collection, and bridges branding, design, and real production. The display is currently used as a physical brand touchpoint in retail environments.
