Thanks to Carrara, I had the chance to work with one of the largest dating apps in the world and develop a new Careers page for them — navigating strict brand guidelines and technical challenges.
And Roman, I hear you ask: what kind of challenges can there be on a single page? And far from the most important one?
Well, let’s dive in.
Timeline
What you see here is not a video, not a Lottie animation, and not a static motion graphic.
It had to be fully responsive and interactive, so I built it div by div, line by line. Then I introduced IX3, next-generation Webflow animations, to Grindr’s website to make the whole animation smooth and alive.
Job Board
Grindr manages their hiring through Ashby, so a CMS wouldn't do, we had to use an Ashby integration.
The problem? An Ashby integration for Webflow does not exist.
A simple embed wouldn’t work either, because we needed full control over the design, filtering, and layout.
So I created the structure directly inside Webflow and connected it to live Ashby job data with custom code magic — and the help of my good friend Gemini. I have a feeling that might be our common friend too, dear reader. That way, the careers page could stay fully on-brand while still updating dynamically.
Design
Grindr has strict brand guidelines, and Carrara has an even stricter review process.
They prepare their Figma designs with a level of precision that has to be matched and respected.
In the end, we achieved a polished, responsive, animated experience — built in Webflow, powered by Ashby, and shaped to feel completely native to Grindr’s brand.
