Jackal Navan opened its doors with a clear identity: retro-cool interiors, wood-fired pizza, crafted cocktails, and a social atmosphere built for long nights and first impressions.
My role was to translate that feeling into content that felt immediate, lived-in, and worth stopping the scroll for.
The Challenge
Launching a new venue in a town with established pubs isn’t just about visibility — it’s about vibe recognition.
Jackal needed content that would:
Feel authentic from day one
Communicate atmosphere, not just menu items
Make people think “we should go there tonight”
All while staying consistent with the wider Animal Collective brand family (Bonobo, Kodiak, Caribou, Daphni), without losing Jackal’s own personality.
The Goal
Create on-site, real-moment content that:
Highlighted Jackal’s interiors, beer garden, and details
Showed real people enjoying the space
Positioned the venue as Navan’s new alternative social spot
Worked natively across Instagram and TikTok
No staged shoots. No empty-room perfection. Just the place as it actually feels when it’s alive.
The Approach
I documented Jackal during peak hours, focusing on moments that communicate energy and warmth:
Wood-fired ovens in action
Candlelit tables shared between friends
Cocktails being shaken, poured, and served with flair
Details — textures, colours, wall art — that define the space
The content blended candid photography with short-form video, allowing Jackal’s personality to come through naturally, without forcing trends or overproduction.

The Impact
Content published on June 4, 2024, generated 3158+ interactions, helping establish Jackal as a recognisable and inviting venue shortly after opening.
More importantly, the visuals helped:
Set expectations for first-time visitors
Reinforce Jackal’s identity within the Animal Collective group
Turn in-venue atmosphere into a digital extension that drives foot traffic
This project shows how capturing the right moments can do more than promote a venue — it can make people feel like they’ve already been there.
📸 Visual Direction
The photography was designed specifically for social platforms — detail-driven, atmosphere-focused, and instantly readable in a feed.
The goal wasn’t just to show what Jackal offers, but how it feels:
Familiar, but distinctive
Social, without feeling staged
Consistent with the brand, yet unique to Navan
Each image reinforces the idea that this is part of a known restaurant family — with its own personality.
Final Note
This project reflects my approach to hospitality content:
observe first, capture honestly, and let the space speak for itself.
When content feels real, people don’t just engage — they show up.
