AI-scaffold engine Turning Africa's locked research into working tools for local businesses. Researchers can't afford to hire developers. Entrepreneurs can't read the papers. The gap between "I published a finding" and "Someone built a tool from it" is where most African innovation dies. The bottleneck isn't talent or ambition. It's a missing tool: something that translates research into products without requiring a $100K data science hire. The goal. Build what I'm calling an "invisible IT bridge": a platform that lets local businesses use advanced analytics without data scientists or deep technical skills. It has to work on slow connections, cheap phones, and for people who've never used a SaaS product.

Six years ago I cared for my own mother and planned the costs on paper because paper was the best tool then. Researching pain points for women from the sandwich generation, I read hundreds of caregiver posts on Reddit, Mumsnet, and Facebook groups alongside reports from the ILO and AARP. The same pattern: one sibling does 70โ100% of the care, the rest stay away. The caregiver who has been doing everything for two years has no way to renegotiate the arrangement without the conversation sounding like a threat or an accusation. Existing caregiver contract templates describe the relationship between a hired caregiver and a patient. Nothing covers the arrangement between siblings. So I built CareWeight. A wizard that documents who handles what, maps hours to six care categories with occupation-specific US market rates, and produces a printable agreement. Free, no signup, no backend. US rates only right now. The user is a woman 45โ60, mobile-first, often filling this out at 11 PM after a day of caregiving. That shaped every decision. Plain HTML, CSS variables, five vanilla JS modules. No React, no build step. HTML templates hold the content, JS clones and fills them. No server. State in localStorage. Share links compress the full plan into a URL fragment via lz-string. Zero bytes leave the browser. Hosted on Netlify: git push deploy from GitHub, free HTTPS, built-in Forms for the feedback channel, a _headers file for Content Security Policy. No infrastructure to manage. PWA with a service worker. The user might be on a weak mobile connection at home. Offline-after-first-load means the wizard does not break mid-session. Installable from the browser on phone or desktop, no app store. CareWeight is live: https://careweight.netlify.app/ (https://careweight.netlify.app/)If you know someone caring for an aging parent, feel free to share.

Crossplatform mobile app. Policy advisors and investors track 2,508 capability fields across all economies: complexity scores, growth trends, unrealized potential gaps. Compare countries, watch specific fields, get alerts on capability shifts. Two primary user types with fundamentally different needs from the same dataset.

During the ideation process of Surge, i made the decision to match each activity to a color This color then embodies that activity. Here is another example of the community group chat for Cycling, users can start an event giving other member the options to accept or ignore

Designed and implemented a custom AI-driven lead capture system where customer conversations (chat or voice) automatically collect contact details, qualify leads, and push them into a single sales funnel. The system triggers structured email follow-ups with a human-in-the-loop approval step, allowing small teams to review and control messaging before it goes out. This enabled 1โ2 people to manage inbound leads, follow-ups, and scheduling efficientlyโdelivering big results without adding staff.

YouTube Podcast Translator โ language access without platform limits We built a custom YouTube podcast translation tool to remove friction caused by YouTubeโs native translation limitations. While some newer videos support auto-translation, millions of YouTube videos remain English-only due to creator settings, regional restrictions, or missing prerequisites. This solution bypasses those constraints. Users can paste any YouTube video link โ old or new โ and receive a translated audio version in their preferred language. How it works: Accepts any public YouTube URL Extracts the original transcript Translates content using LLMs Converts the translation into natural-sounding speech Outputs playable audio The system works independently of YouTubeโs translation rules. Supported languages: English, Spanish, Hindi (Designed to expand)

Straight Talk 7 Day Bridge Plan

Almost 100K redemptions. 40K+ unique customers. Average of 2.3 plans per person. That's what happened when we gave Straight Talk prepaid customers a short-term bridge instead of forcing a full monthly commitment they couldn't afford. The flow sounds simple. Pick the plan, see clear pricing, know exactly what happens when it expires. But getting there meant working through eligibility rules, cross-channel consistency across web and app, and messaging that had to land for stressed out customers. The prototype in this video was one step in that process. Full case study at patlopes.com (http://patlopes.com).

I built my portfolio from scratch using Claude Code and I'm genuinely proud of how it turned out. As a designer who can code, I wanted something that actually reflected that. So instead of a template, I built it myself with a little help from AI. A few things I'm proud of: The whole thing is custom built, no Webflow, no Squarespace Claude Code helped me move fast on this one. It gave me full control over every interaction and detail Check it out at patlopes.com (http://patlopes.com) would love to hear what you think.

The KFC product detail page had a problem that's pretty common in high-traffic ordering flows. It worked fine most of the time. But at the moment customers needed to make a decision like customizing a meal, confirming selections, adding to the cart, it introduced just enough confusion to slow things down or cause drop-off. Three specific issues: the mobile layout buried key content below an oversized image, customization options were duplicated in a way that felt broken, and there was no clear view of selections before checkout. The work focused on those three things only. No full redesign, no new features. Result: 88% task success across platforms, 20% faster completion, and 90% of participants reported higher satisfaction. Full breakdown on my portfolio: https://www.patlopes.com/case/kfc-pdp-redesign

I created JRPG-oriented images using AI in the second half of December 2025, and I share some of those here as well! The base AI image model was Nano Banana Pro. However, you will soon find that something is different. Yes, I made these images with either the Infographic or the Slide Deck feature of NotebookLM!! Slide Decks and Infographics on NotebookLM are highly customizable. I would say that many folks have generated infographics and slides in various styles with the tool and that those images may include game-oriented ones. But mine are different in that none of them discuss or summarize any specific materials. How? 1. Import my Conversational Bot document, a prompt file shared as part of my Versatile Bot Project (https://contra.com/p/UUgFosAQ-versatile-bot-prompt). 2. Add certain custom prompts. 3. That is it.

๐จNew App Alert๐จ Using Anything, I built an AI chat that runs a local language model on the server side in a project with Transformers.js installed๐คฏ No CDNs, no built-in integrations or external APIs, and no browser-side inference in a serverless environment. Try out the Server-Side Local AI Chat app below: https://www.anything.com/mobile-preview/c64a0c85-f3e0-4546-af67-453bd13b3f2c Here are a few notes. โข For a technical reason, I share this chat in development mode through a mobile wrapper app prepared for the chat to work despite being not deployed for production. โข If you haven't got an account in Anything yet and are interested in having one, please consider signing up via the affiliate link available from the header "Built by ..." statement in this chat. โข I will later post author comments in the comment section to share some information that should be added as notes and/or disclosed to be fair.

Since Friday (May 15, 2026), I have been building a local AI chat app of my own with the help of generative AI๐ The main reason is to use Gemma 4 on my laptop in an environment where I can expect what will happen. In addition, this project has been helping me learn a lot about how vibecoding tools work under the hood! This chat app is built under the following setup: โข Next.js โข Two API Routes, separating LLM inference from the back-end part of the app โข Transformers.js (running on the server side) โข The ONNX q4 version of gemma-4-e2b-it Note that this chat app is still in development and, despite its name, has not got any built-in tools yet. However, a first step is very important in app building, isn't it? I hope that this post inspires anyone to build their own local AI chat app! See the comment section for additional notes (if any).

Title: Glass Truths โ Serialized Psychological Fiction Description: Glass Truths is a 29-episode serialized psychological fiction series published via Patreon and Substack, exploring intergenerational patterns of narcissistic abuse, systemic manipulation, and what I call "fissure awareness" โ the capacity to recognize repeating psychological and historical patterns across time. Launched December 2025 with a structured biweekly release schedule through December 2026, the series integrates audio storytelling, educational psychology, and community engagement through a tiered subscription model. Glass Truths serves as the narrative pilot and community-building foundation for the forthcoming TEACH Trilogy โ a three-book saga scheduled for publication beginning in 2027. This project represents the publishing and creative arm of IFTI Publishing & Advisory, translating 40+ years of institutional experience into accessible, mission-driven storytelling.
