Mountain Resin is a UK based Shilajit Resin brand. This was one of my first freelancing projects last year. The goal was to reposition shilajit for modern health & wellness enthusiasts and move away from the over-used black + white mountain logo aesthetics widely seen across the industry. A few months ago I was approached to add sun glasses onto ai models. They were finding it difficult to get them exactly as they should be. In my early uses of Flora I ended up creating a workflow to integrate and added glasses onto models. These were to be used as references so when I add the glasses using real product images in photoshop, I can see ideas for shadows and highlights when compositing. New project incoming 🎬📚 I'm about to start animating this book featuring Bella, a fluffy golden retriever living her best life in Perth, WA, plus a fun science-experiment scene with two curious kids. Excited to bring these characters and scenes to life with movement, sound, and narration, the same way I approach all my read-aloud animations. Stay tuned to see this one in motion!

For this project, I animated a client's book cover to give it more presence and energy perfect for grabbing attention on social media or a book launch page. The character and background were separated into layers in Photoshop, then animated in After Effects with subtle movement in the hair, lighting, and background elements to add depth and drama to the piece. It's a good example of how a single illustration can be turned into a short, eye-catching animation great for promo, teasers, or just making a cover stand out online.

Another project in the books 📚✨ This one was a book cover animation for a client. Instead of a static cover, the client wanted it brought to life to grab attention and stand out online. Same process as always: separated the artwork into layers in Photoshop, then animated it in After Effects adding movement to the character, lighting, and background elements to give the cover some drama and depth. It's a great example of how animation isn't just for full book read-alouds even a single cover image can be turned into something eye-catching for marketing, social media, or a book launch.

Hi, I'm Rafiu Uthman 👋 I'm a 2D animator who turns children's storybooks into animated read-aloud videos bringing flat illustrations to life with character motion, word-synced narration, and music. My process: I take the original book art, separate every character and background piece in Photoshop, then animate everything in After Effects 👍 👍 :adding subtle movement, syncing text to the voice so kids can follow along, and adding music to set the mood.
