Interior design studio Fauxstone looked to move upmarket and attract higher-value clients. They needed a new brand identity that made them feel confident and premium operating at this higher tier in the market— all without alienating existing clients.
To compete with higher-end studios, the brand needed:
- An architectural and structured identity
- Greater visual sophistication
- A clearer market position
- A premium but approachable aesthetic
Design Process
I started with the core of what Fauxstone wanted to achieve with their identity; premium, architectural and distinctive.
The first step was selecting a clean sans-serif with an architectural feel. Strong typography sets the tone for a premium identity. The precise lines and simplistic shapes mirror the sharp angles used in Fauxstone interiors.
The 'F" features a faux cut out that can be used as a frame across brand assets to anchor imagery.
Fauxstone’s work is built around natural materials and textures. The visual language draws from this, reflecting the tactile nature of interior design. These materials - stone, plaster, oak - were the base for a neutral palette, with an elegant purple colour being used to emphasise luxury with warmth.
To feel distinctive across touch points an icon and clear wordmark were added that feature a missing stone. These nods to the brand name Fauxstone are used throughout the identity to make the brand quickly identifiable.
Outcome
The Fauxstone team were delighted with their new look. I’m pleased that the design reflects their ambition and the quality of their work. It now positions them to compete confidently within the premium residential interior market.
The identity is focused on timeless design and works seamlessly across physical and digital applications, it can be used long into the future to help them build a solid, memorable brand.
