Cover image for As Founding Designer at Zeal,
As Founding Designer at Zeal, I built the product’s UX and UI from zero, designing data tools that helped teachers make sense of student progress across Common Core standards. I spent multiple days per week in classrooms observing real use, during lessons, between classes, and in planning meetings, and redesigned based on what actually worked under time pressure. I led the design of teacher dashboards, proficiency heatmaps, goal-setting tools, and an adaptive classroom game that adjusted difficulty per student while maintaining shared competition. The result was a platform adopted by 100+ schools, where teachers could understand class progress in seconds and make better instructional decisions without wading through raw data.

Cover image for As Design Systems Lead at
As Design Systems Lead at IXL Learning, I led the creation of a shared design system to unify five-plus products across a decades-old brand. I managed a team of designers, established a biweekly cadence for audits and reviews, and worked directly with product teams to ensure components were built for real production needs. Using atomic design principles and strong foundational tokens for color, spacing, and typography, we created a system that reduced drift, sped up delivery, and made new UI feel cohesive by default. The result was a living design system that teams actually adopted because it worked in practice, not just in theory.

Cover image for I led the end-to-end redesign
I led the end-to-end redesign of the FarmVille marketplace at Zynga, from early hand sketches through implementation. The goal was to modernize the UI while supporting seasonal reskins, flash sales, and an ever-growing set of monetization features without breaking usability. I designed the information architecture, wireframes, visual system, and a flexible skinning framework that allowed the market to be rethemed in days instead of weeks. I also designed the flash sale and promotion system, which drove major revenue spikes and was later adopted across other Zynga titles. The redesigned market ultimately supported a feature responsible for over $1B in revenue at peak scale.

Cover image for Increasing App Engagement by Simplifying
Increasing App Engagement by Simplifying Trip Planning and Ticketing for Metrolink Riders Metrolink’s mobile app is a key way riders buy tickets—but many found it confusing, limited, and frustrating to use. Important tasks like choosing the right ticket, finding routes, and tracking trains weren’t clear or fully supported, leading to wasted time, mistakes, and lower app usage. As the sole designer, I led a 3-month redesign focused on making the app more useful beyond just ticket purchasing. I clarified complex ticket information, simplified the buying process, and introduced key features like route recommendations, train tracking, and schedule checking—all designed to help users plan their trips with confidence. After two rounds of user testing and iteration, user satisfaction significantly improved. The likelihood of users returning to the app increased by 37%, and overall experience ratings became more positive. This project demonstrated how clearer content, better structure, and the right feature set can turn a frustrating tool into one riders actually want to use.

Cover image for Reducing project rejections by making
Reducing project rejections by making property submissions easier in the L.A. TDM Calculator Getting a real estate project approved by the City of Los Angeles involves navigating detailed requirements, and even small mistakes can lead to delays or rejection. The L.A. TDM Calculator was built to help developers meet those requirements, but a key part of the experience wasn’t keeping up with how projects actually work in the real world. Most projects include multiple properties, each with its own ID number. The tool, however, only allowed users to enter one. This mismatch created confusion, caused errors, and ultimately led to valid projects being rejected. This project focused on closing that gap, making it easier for users to enter the right information the first time, so they could move forward with confidence.
