Confession of a perfectionist designer: I've redesigned my own website 3x.
I spend my days building identities and websites for other people, and I can make decisions for them without blinking. But my own site? Completely different story.
The problem is I love too many things. I'll see a beautifully set editorial layout, then a brutally minimal portfolio, then something experimental with a strange type pairing, and I want all of it. Choosing one direction feels like closing the door on every other version of myself.
So here I am: Version 3 has been live for 3 months, and I already have that itch to burn it down and start from scratch again. 🙃
Who else knows this feeling? How do you decide when your own work is "done"?
And honestly, I'd love fresh eyes on it. What works, what doesn't, what would you change? 👉 https://www.alexandragoldschmidt.com

What helped me was setting the brief before the visuals: three words the site has to say, and a rule that anything that doesn't serve them waits for the next version. Once it's written down, the itch to burn it all down gets a lot quieter.
