I tested it by generating my own layout in Magicpath using a custom prompt - ended up building an interactive “Pretext Layout Demo” where a draggable orb reshapes the layout in real time. As it moves, the text flows, splits, and wraps around it, turning a static page into something that actually feels alive.

Agreed. With working in traditional media in print, I love to incorporate layout and other design elements into digital design. It makes both more versatile and cohesive in building campaigns for clients that value consistency across platforms and branding.

I tried exploring it by building a journaling app prototype to see how well it handles design.
From my experience, it still feels quite early.
It took quite a few iterations to get to a decent layout, even with detailed prompts, so I wouldn’t rely on it too much for design quality just yet.
That said, I really like how you can turn generated screens into an instant prototype and test interactions right away.
It makes it great for exploring ideas and quickly testing concepts.

❌ The Gaps
UI output quality isn't groundbreaking
Other platforms aren't far behind, and their outputs are more immediately usable beyond just visuals. Stitch only generates UI, the HTML/CSS export exists, but it's basic and not production-ready.
So who is this actually for?
Stitch isn't trying to replace designers, and it's not quite ready to hand developers production code either. It sits in a sweet spot: rapid ideation with a real design system behind it.
If you're a freelance designer, this shaves hours off early-stage concepting and client presentations. If you're a developer hoping to skip the design phase entirely — not yet.
Threat? No.
Tool? Yes, if you know where to use it.
