Making a video is like making a song.
Nobody hears the 40 takes. They hear the one.
Same with a film and video. You cut and cut and cut, and what's left has to do two things: be a version you'd defend, and be a version that's theirs. Landing both at once is the job.
I've got folders of ideas that never shipped. Openings, transitions, a color that was wrong for this one. They become vocabulary for the next brief.
Some behind the scenes on what didn't make the cut, but will shape another one someday.

Recently shipped a lot of 1-day, 2-day or 7-day productions for product launch videos.
Of course, spending more time would enhance the end result.
Though, the power of shipping this fast though is that, if done right, it forces you to let go of minor flaws and focus on the core message.
By going through the entire production & launch cycle repeatedly,
you get faster, sharper, and more confident with every single video.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big believer for big budget projects where a lot of time can be spend on finetuning.
I get that.
There's just certain magic behind shipping fast.

Agreed there's magic in shipping fast, repetition builds instinct in a way that endless polishing never does. I'd push back a little on "letting go of minor flaws" though, how do you tell the difference between a flaw that's genuinely invisible to the client and one that's just easier to ignore under a deadline?
