another day, another soul 🕯️
meet Mortelle, the eternal guardian of the afterlife. 🥀 elegant, a little sassy, and probably the last person you’d want greeting you after death.
Mortelle actually began as an original character idea I developed for the Cantina Challenge on @contra! I didn’t get lucky with the challenge, but I still couldn’t let her remain just an idea. I wanted to bring her to life and explore her world, personality, and stories beyond the original concept.

Inspired by, I'm sharing one of my own concepts that wasn't chosen for the final design, but that I absolutely love.
This idea is so good! We all have concepts hiding in our drafts that never get to see the light of day. I think they deserve their moment, too. ✨
How many concepts die in your drafts folder? 💀

SITTER: A Fashion House Painted in 1532
In the 1500s, the rich sat for Bronzino, Bellini and Corneille de Lyon mostly to show off their clothes: slashed sleeves, black silk, gloves and gold chains.
Those portraits were, in effect, the first luxury campaigns. I trained a Recraft V4 Style on four Renaissance portraits of unnamed sitters from The Met, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art, and built SITTER, a fictional fashion house whose entire campaign is painted as court portraiture.
An oxblood leather trench sits for Bellini's blue.
A teal suit borrows Bronzino's hand on the hip.
Collection 01, with a full identity, posters and a rollout film.
Sit for it.
Wow, this looks absolutely stunning!
