Creatives on Contra have earned over $150M and we are just getting started

That’s definitely nice!🙂 But honestly, it only became possible because I brought my existing clients onto the platform — people I had already been working with before joining Contra. So, to be completely transparent, not a single dollar so far has come from Contra’s own client marketplace. I’m still waiting for inbound invitations lol.😅
I’m also curious about something: when people show earnings of $100k+, is that mostly revenue from clients who discovered them directly through Contra?🤔 Or is it a similar situation where they simply invited their existing clients onto the platform?
Because, to be honest, in the Projects section there don’t seem to be that many opportunities for "Product Designers" specifically.
What has everyone else’s experience been like? Have any of you received inbound leads directly through Contra that eventually converted into paid work?✍️
Congratulation
Thank you!
Congrats!
Thank you!
I totally agree with you. Congratulations anywayss! A win is a win. Also if you don't mind, what platform do you get your existing clients from?
Basically, I used Upwork, but it has been working very poorly for the last 3 years, so 90% of my clients are recommendations, since I have been doing design since 2015.
Okayy thank you!
started a few months ago though and haven't made any income here. i've gotten a few messages but nothing ever lead to a gig. i guess with time it would
Congratulations 🎉
Thank you!
Congrats on $10k!
Can't speak for $100k, but since joining Contra, all of my clients have come through the platform.
Nice, thanks
Congrats!!
Thank you!
Congrats anyways!
Дякую😊
Congrats!
Thank you!
Huge milestone Anna. Congratulations 🎉
Thank you!
You're welcome Anna 😊
Similar experiences for me too, Anna. I guess we just need to keep pushing and things eventually will start going our direction. Congrats on the milestone! 🙌
Thanks for sharing your experience, we continue to work, but I think the problem is that Contra has a rather weak client base compared to, say, Upwork.
Congratulations on your achievement 🎊
thanks
Keep going
Next stop 25k
thanks
thanks
we're so new to contra, we just realized you could bring existing clients here, so it kinda shifts a bit the earning perspective.
I think the problem is that Contra has a rather weak client base when it comes to product design, and it's more suited to other types of projects. But Contra is really convenient for sending and receiving payments.
Yeah, same experience here honestly. 😅
I’ve been on Contra for almost 6 months now, but still haven’t received any inbound clients or successful proposals through the platform itself yet.
Anyway, congratulations on the milestone!

Thank you!
Thanks! I've seen freelancers who work in marketing and promotion have great success here, as well as with other types of media. Apparently, product design isn't as popular here.
As I said, most of my clients are referrals. Dribble has only brought in 1-2 client since 2018, but I know studios that regularly take clients there, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I think Upwork is still the best on the market right now, but they have a very unfair...
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks!
You're welcome
Congratulations Anna!! 😃
Thanks!
welcome! 😃
Congratulations, Anna! I hit $1k recently and the client came through the Contra but I've seen a post a few weeks ago and the guy said that he has $100k on Contra but not even a dollar came through the platform, haha!
I think it’ll be faster for me to process $100K through Contra with my current clients than to get $10K from clients who come through Contra directly.😅
My impression is that Contra isn’t very popular for product design services, especially compared to marketing-related services,...
Congrats!
Thanks!
I completely get what you're saying. Maybe it's me but it feels like it used to be more job opportunities on the Jobs section. Now it's very difficult for me to find jobs that are related to what I do. In contrast when I go to upwork there are a lot.
Even though, congrats on the 10k

Massive respect for the transparency—this is the data the platform doesn’t advertise but everyone needs. Most of the public "$X earned on Contra" posts are really just existing books migrated onto the rails. That doesn’t make the platform less valuable (it’s payments + contracts...
I absolutely agree with you, it’s as if you wrote down my thoughts!👍
Congrats!!!
Congratulations
Congratulations 🎉 🎉 and thank you for sharing your experience and be transparent with it
Thank you
Congratulations 🎉 🔥
Thanks for sharing. I'm facing a similar situation. I make specific type of video and motion art content. Contra is such a wonderful platform but I wish there were more oppurtunities in the video editing and production space as well.

That's great result man! For a new comer to the platform - what are your top 3 recs to focus on, ideally increasing the chance of the inbound?

Congratulations nice job 🎉🎉
September was kind to me, even though it was one of the toughest months.
I was hospitalized, while my daughter continued her cancer treatment. There were days that felt incredibly heavy, but somehow, nature was kind enough to help me keep moving forward and reach these numbers.
Grateful for the strength, the people who stood by me, and the little wins that kept me going. ❤️
Keeping you and your daughter in my prayers. Wishing you both immense strength, healing, and better days ahead.
