FAQs
Can I provide feedback and request changes as the project progresses?
Absolutely. I will expect to get your feedback at different points of the project so I'll always know we are on the same page working towards the same goals. If there are times you don't like the direction of the proposed solution or the progress that was made, you'll be able to give me feedback and describe how you want things to be changed.
How long does a typical project take?
Roughly about one month for a brand new website complete with blog and some common dynamic features. But everyone project is unique, so depending on how complex or not your site needs to be we'll have to give or take a few weeks.
Are there any additional fees that might arise during or after the project?
Just a re-engagement fee of $200. If for any reason work on your project is halted because I am unable to get in contact with you or if you do not provide requested feedback in a reasonable time frame, I may have to switch to working with another client. If this happens the re-engagement fee kicks in for me to restart working on your project. This is only to discourage you not to disappear in the middle of our project. I don't foresee this happening hardly ever. But that is the only potential additional fee. Because I do not charge an hourly rate for this service but come to an agreement with my clients on what the project should have and what the costs will be, you will know how much your project will cost you up front. Plus you'll know what to expect with ongoing maintenance/infrastructure costs that keep your website live and running as well.
Can you integrate specific features, or third-party services?
Yes, more than likely I can. I’ve built mapping solutions integrated with Google Maps. Integrated custom, dynamic, website forms into third-party providers. Third-party rating widgets on sites as well etc.
What happens if something goes wrong with the website after launch?
I always provide at least 1 month of post-launch support. If something were to happen after that time period, please reach out to me and I’ll have a look. I’ll need to diagnose the issue and determine if it was something faulty in the original coding of the website or if it is a new issue and we can move forward from there. I always want to stand behind my work and so if it is something that was missed when your website was first created, I will do my best to fix the issue.
Is SEO optimization included in the service?
Yes. Since best practices of creating a website or web application overlap so much, not only with best foundational SEO practices but also with web accessibility practices, all the website project I do will always have a strong foundation of SEO optimization as well as WCAG 2 compliance. It’s important to understand, however, that a well crafted and optimized website is just the beginning of SEO optimization. Real, true, SEO optimization is the result of your website along with your social media outlets staying relevant within the ecosystem of your industry by providing valuable content and resources to your users.
What's included
Functional HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript web UI components 🛠️
Collection of reusable web page UI components to be reused as building blocks for your website or web application.
Related component documentation 📄
Documentation for the components created so that any developers working with the components in the future can quickly get up-to-speed on how they work as well as pointing out future extensibility options. This provides a path to quicker implementation if I am not the one bringing the web project together and bringing the site/app live.
Integration with a Content Management System, Cloud Hosting Provider etc. if needed 🔌
Once your product/web designs have been turned into working code, I can connect this code up to a CMS, hosting provider etc. This will be determined and specified at the beginning of the project depending on your requirements. For clients that need this step, this deliverable represents the work involved in bringing the code together and live online.
Go-Live and Post-Delivery Support 🛟
Similar to the previous deliverable but for clients that don't require specific CMS or hosting provider integrations. I still provide support during the process of going live with the site and to help resolve any issues once your site is live.
