One page shape for all twenty-nine of Absa's vehicle and asset finance pages, so the section reads as one bank. My part was the information architecture and the experience, and the shape carried the pages built after I had moved on. Shipped in 2024.
A page that sells finance and a page that points at a document have nothing in common
Some pages end in an application, from the standard instalment sale to the Shari'ah-compliant product. Some offer a service, like selling a car when money is tight. Two exist only to give an existing customer their NaTIS document or a letter for taking the car across a border.
Left unpatterned they would have read as twenty-nine separate companies, and one later change would have meant twenty-nine edits.
Every page got one shape, and the button is the only thing that changes
One shape carries the set: a headline, a line beneath it, and a single button naming what that page can do, from Finance my car to Call me back. It works hardest on the two smallest pages, which share a sentence one noun apart and needed no designer at all.
The Shari'ah-compliant product uses the standard calculator with five labels changed, so interest rate becomes profit mark-up and one component stays correct in both. The project reached development after I had started on the next one, and the numbers never came back to me, so there is no conversion claim here. What anyone can check is on the live site: one shape across twenty-nine pages.
One page shape for all 29 of Absa's vehicle and asset finance pages, from a Shari'ah-compliant loan to a cross-border letter. Information architecture and UX.
