This is the home page for the Northern California nonprofit, North Valley Community Foundation, or NVCF. I designed the website template and wrote the copy for this website. It was a one-year contract job.



Design Research and Branding Process:

• This project was a rebranding and relaunch of the current website.
• The old website was running off of an old version of WordPress and a custom theme with broken code.
• It took three weeks to go through the CSS and HTML to find the colors and fonts to start putting together NVCF’s branding kit.
• I also had to pull together the different financial forms/ documents that needed to be transferred over to the new site.
• I worked very closely with the CFO and Communications team leader to make sure that the colors, photos, and mission wording were on-brand for the organization.

Logistical Desires of the Company:

• They wanted anyone on the team to be able to easily access the site and update the different financial information for clients so we went with a Wix.com site because it is very user-friendly.
• Once we made that decision I started putting together a Wix template that NVCF liked and was on Brand for the company.
• Even though it was a Wix site and I could get away with not coding, there were specifics that they wanted such as a news feed and backlog of documents and files.

Job Description and Details:

• I was paid hourly for four months to complete the job as a contractor.
• My job was to produce social media and website content while also getting the new site up and ready to launch.
• Because this was time-sensitive they ended up bringing someone else on to help me because the relaunch became a bigger job than we thought because we had to not only recode/ redesign the website we had to filter through the old and new documents and work with every department to make sure their needs were met.
• Making it a two-person team streamlined the work and helped us finish the project in four months.
