EMRI (Emergency Management and Research Institute)

EMRI, is a non-profit organization with a mission to save lives and bring hope through its emergency response services. It is the India's largest ambulance chain. Tailored ambulance designs to varied geographical locations, such as EMRI ambulance boats for rescue operations in regions like Meghalaya (more water ways compared to road ways), accounting for unique climatic conditions.

At Research Translation Lab, our mission is to transform research into innovative digital products. With a collaborative team comprising product managers, developers, architects, and UI/UX designers, we work seamlessly from problem identification to delivering tailored digital solutions. EMRI, which initially operated entirely manually, from ambulance assignments to patient vital documentation and hospital handovers, recognized the global shift towards AI and sought to modernize its system. Acknowledging the potential of technology in enhancing life-saving efforts, EMRI approached Product Labs to collaborate on integrating AI into their operations.

During the focused group discussion, EMRI and its stakeholders discussed challenges and potential technical solutions, including insights from tech researchers, the COO, City Operation Head, Technical Partner Head, Product Manager, and UX Designer.

Certainly, after an immersive 3-day observation within the ambulance, here are the key insights I've gathered on the challenges faced by EMRI EMT Assist during their critical missions:
