A store built to sell trust before product. Procurement-first e-commerce for a start-up whose buyers take months to say yes.

UndaTech engineers fire-safe protective undergarments for defence, government, first responders and athletes. Their buyers aren't shoppers. They're procurement leads, and procurement runs on trust built over months of conversations, not impulse purchases.
The problem was that those conversations had nowhere to land. No credible place to show the products meant nothing to point a buyer to after a meeting, nothing to follow up with, and no way to keep a relationship warm between expos. And B2C might come later, or it might not, so whatever we built couldn't bet the platform on either answer. That's exactly the situation Shopify is right for.

Impact

Live before expo season, with a credibility problem solved for good. UndaTech walked into industry shows with a professional product presence to stand behind, and secured opportunities in front of the exact buyers they'd been chasing. The store now does the trust work between conversations without anyone touching it. And when the B2C moment arrives, flipping it on is a decision, not a rebuild.

My role as design partner and builder

UndaTech came in with deep product knowledge and no design experience, which made this two jobs. The builder job: structure the catalogue, design the store, build it in Shopify with low technical debt so it grows with the range. The guide job was the harder one: translate what the founders knew about their product into messaging that a procurement lead would actually act on, and leave behind a design system they can run without me.

The decision that shaped it

Everything was built for the buyer who isn't ready yet. Product pages written to be forwarded around a procurement team, not to close a sale on the spot. Structure that reads as credible to a government buyer doing due diligence at 11pm. A catalogue extendable at any point without touching the foundations. Most stores are designed for the moment of purchase. This one is designed for the six months before it.
If your buyers take months to say yes, this is the kind of store I build. Happy to walk you through it.
