Problem: Users do not have an effective strategy nor access to a network of industry professionals to help tackle their career goals (ex: resume formatting, interview prep etc..)

About: 'Xpert' is an expert advice app that offers users the right tools to gain guidance from a Career Advancement expert through check-ins and weekly consultations to progress in their career.

My Role: I facilitated research, interviews, usability testing, and designed as well as prototyped a comprehensive app that aims to provide users who seek career help with solid and credible resources and advice to guide them on a path toward doing the work to solve their obstacles.

End Result: Mobile app that provides access to the best industry professionals and resources to equip them with the tools necessary for career success.

How I reduced cognitive load: I’ve reduced cognitive load for my users by utilizing the acquired information from user interviews which emphasized user pain points that created the most difficulty when completing tasks like accessing appointments and beginning a chat. I also facilitated a card sorting exercise geared toward presenting clear and intuitive information to the user at a gradual and realistic pace to prevent sensory overload.
