Improving how we search for sport events - Eventivity
Eventivity is a website dedicated to sports events in Romania. Users can either search for events nearby or create one themselves.
THE PROBLEM
Sports enthusiasts rely mostly on word-of-mouth or facebook groups when it comes to finding upcoming sport events near them. Users have a hard time finding sport competitions especially when they lack popularity and exposure.
SOLUTION
A possible solution could be a website dedicated to sport events that will allow users to see all the upcoming events and competitions in their needed area. This will help users easily find competitions from different sports and register without wasting time.

WHO ARE THE USERS?
In order to gain deeper understanding about the users’ needs and pain points, I created a survey using GoogleForms, which was completed by 10 users. Down below you can find some questions and answers.
COMPETITIVE AUDIT
I conducted a competitive analysis to understand the strenghts and weaknesses of the main competitors, in order to be one step ahead and to offer the user the best possible product. Down below you can see my analysis regarding the main sources of Romanian people when it comes to finding a sport event.
HOW ARE WE GOING TO SOLVE THE USERS' PROBLEMS?
By this step we had a pretty good understanding of the direction of the design, so the solutions to be implemented:
A search feature that is the main point of the website, helping users easily find what they're looking for in the shortest amount of time
Clear details and information about the events established by a comprehensive flow for event creation
Event suggestions to help users discover new activities easier.
SOME UNEXPECTED RESULTS:
After the research phase, we also discovered some insights that helped us integrate them in the final design even though they were not planned in the beginning.
A lot of our possible users are also looking for volunteering opportunities when browsing for sport events. This lead us to rethink the information architecture and to include a volunteering option on the site.
