An Italian language learning app where every lesson unlocks a new city on the map, gives you a special challenge, and reveals a fun fact β€” blending gamification with cultural immersion.
Problem Most language learning apps lose users fast. Linear lessons and repetitive drills offer no exploration or emotional hook, causing drop-offs after the first week.
Goal Design a mobile app UX that keeps users engaged through visible progress, rewards, and cultural discovery β€” boosting retention, lesson completion, and paid conversion.
Solution We added a city map progression, special city quests, cultural fact cards, and milestone badges. Lessons are short and interactive, with instant feedback and streak rewards. This makes learning feel like traveling across Italy, not just studying.
