Sample project: localize a SaaS product's landing page and in-app UI from English into Simplified Chinese, so it reads like it was written for Chinese users, not translated for them. The source is a fictional company ("Northwind Cloud"), so the full before/after can be shown.
How I worked
Glossary first: fixed the Chinese term for every product concept (Workspace → 工作空间, Plan → 套餐) so the whole product stays consistent
Transcreation for marketing copy: "Automate the busywork. Keep the insight." → 繁琐的事交给自动化,洞察留给你。
One consistent voice: modern "你" throughout, switchable to formal "您" on request
UI strings, ready to ship
Placeholders such as {seconds}, {days} and {count} kept intact, with word order adapted so the sentence still reads naturally after substitution
Short labels for tight UI space: "Changes saved" → 已保存
Delivered as key / English / Chinese, ready to drop into JSON or CSV resource files
Result
8 landing-page lines, 13 UI strings and an 8-term glossary
Native-Mandarin review of every line; AI-assisted draft for speed
