I am the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Tomatoes Collective, an intersectional literary and arts magazine centering on Black and LGBTQ+ writers. Under my leadership as Editor-in-Chief, we have garnered $2k+ in print issue sales, formed a 9-person editorial team, and published 22 issues combined over print and digital channels. As an Editor-in-Chief, I guide writers and editors through an intensive developmental editing process for each piece. With a focus on the lived experiences of diverse writers, Ebony Tomatoes Collective is a much-needed literary resource for writers who are often overlooked by traditional publishers.
Liberation, Ebony Tomatoes Collective’s 21st issue, focuses on bold, personal stories about nations grappling with ongoing human rights abuses. For this issue, I managed the editorial workflow on an international team of writers and served as the leading copyeditor and developmental editor. Liberation is one of our three print issues and we have a fourth on the way, all of which are free to preview here.
Using my developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, I’ve collaborated with dozens of writers to develop and polish their work for digital publication. Along with the work I’ve personally edited, I’ve managed the editing and publication workflow of 100+ articles, poems, and photography series featured in book and magazine fairs across New York City and New Jersey.
