Travelling Further Liminally: A Computational Art Journey

I have always enjoyed watching artists create algorithmic art and bend code and mould into any form and figment of their imagination...

Before Lovable, I was just a spectator to this artistic practise. Since building Memento, a data analytics platform for galleries and museums, I was welcomed to a community of computational artists, generative 3D designers, VFX producers, 3D printing artists, and algorithmic plotting artists where they use plotters to visualise their art. Essentially, writing the code for a robot to paint for them at will. As soon as I heard the announcement of Lovable and using AI to code, this was the very first use case that I wanted to explore. I wanted to finally be able to be part of the community, not from just a spectator but a contributor. And I took all of those experiences, the moments of awe, the curious and vast questions I've asked, and prompted away using Lovable and finally produced my first piece of computational art that I named 'Travelling Further Liminlly' That work was inspired by every time I've travelled or used the TFL transport for London, and it captured the nuance of passing thoughts, sounds, conversations, and experiences. It visualises all of the different underground routes, train routes, and dances in a sporadic sequence that never shows up twice. I initially started the development in Replit whilst I was waiting for my train at Edgware Road station, and this is where I was met with inspiration. I saw an artwork on the side of a building, and that was the seed of my first piece, digitising something that has always been there in my commutes but revealed to me for the first time.

I loved my experience with Lovable to created my first ever computational art piece inspired by London transport experiences, conversation and music.
