Frameo is a personal, conceptual UX/UI project for a streaming assistant that uses AI to help people decide what to watch. It is designed for people who use multiple streaming services and struggle to choose a film or series, whether they are watching alone or with someone else.
The concept turns an open-ended search into a shorter, guided flow based on mood, available time, context, and the platforms a person uses.
The problem
Too many options and the need to switch between platforms can make choosing something to watch feel frustrating. People can spend time browsing catalogs without finding a title that suits the moment.
The opportunity was to reduce that decision friction through a more focused recommendation journey.
Research findings
I conducted semi-structured interviews and a competitive analysis of JustWatch, Reelgood, and Watchworthy. I also ran a closed card-sorting exercise with 8 participants to review the navigation categories.
These inputs informed the product direction: recommendation needed to be the central task, while saved content and account preferences needed clearly distinct places in the experience.
Process
I translated the research into personas, a design problem statement, a storyboard, and a user journey. I scoped the MVP with MoSCoW, then developed the information architecture, key flows, and mid-fidelity wireframes.
I later created the visual system, high-fidelity screens, and prototype in Figma. Design review led to a more prominent AI Match flow and clearer separation between Watchlist content and account preferences.

Design decisions
Made AI Match the primary action in the experience.
Collected mood, time, and platform inputs before presenting recommendations.
Used one primary recommendation with alternatives to limit choice overload.
Added “Why this match?” to explain why a title was recommended.
Separated Watchlist from Profile to clarify the purpose of each area.
Allowed people to update preferences, request another recommendation, or save a title.
Built a cinematic visual direction with dark backgrounds, violet accents, and consistent components.
Expected value
The concept is designed to make selection feel more intentional and manageable by narrowing a broad catalog into recommendations that fit a specific moment. Reducing decision time is a hypothesis to validate, not a measured result.
Scope
Frameo is a personal, conceptual B2C digital product project. The outcome is a UX/UI proposal and prototype, not a launched application or implemented AI engine.
