OneTap: Personal Finance App Concept

OneTap is a personal finance app concept for young adults and professionals who want to track income and expenses, review transactions, and understand their monthly balance without a complex setup process.

The project focuses on making everyday money tracking feel quick and approachable while keeping financial activity easy to review.

Many people delay recording expenses because the process takes too many steps. That can lead to incomplete records and make it harder to understand how much has been spent or remains available.

The design challenge was to simplify daily expense and income tracking while giving people a clear view of their activity and monthly balance.

I reviewed Monefy, Fintonic, and Wallet to identify opportunities around navigation, language, and transaction entry.

I defined the MVP scope, user profiles, and design problem, then created a journey map and storyboard to understand how recording a transaction fits into everyday routines.

I organized the information architecture and mapped the core flows for recording expenses and income, checking a balance, and editing or deleting transactions. From there, I developed mid-fidelity wireframes, a visual system, high-fidelity screens, and a clickable prototype in Figma.

Included confirmation and error states across key flows.

Used consistent components, dark surfaces, and blue accents for primary actions.

The case study documents usability testing with 5 users. Four participants completed the core flow without significant difficulty.

The sessions also revealed areas to refine in the prototype: making Transactions easier to notice, clarifying category detail, and improving search interactions and amount entry.

These findings describe the prototype evaluation, not commercial product performance.

OneTap is designed to make regular money tracking easier to maintain and to give people a clearer view of income, spending, and available balance. These are intended product benefits that would need validation in a live product.
