Cajun Kitchen in Biarritz

Inspired by their shared passions, Cecile and Fergus wanted to bring a taste of New Orleans to the shores of Biarritz. Together, they envisioned a restaurant where the locals could discover and fall in love with Cajun food, just as they had during a common trip in Fergus's homeland. Their vision was to create a space where the warmth of Cajun hospitality would blend seamlessly with the laid-back vibes of the Basque coast.

The Brief

The founders wanted their restaurant to reflect conviviality. With the place serving as a gathering place for friends and families, where laughter flows as freely as the gumbo (tradition dish). They envisioned a chill atmosphere, capturing the laid-back surf culture, where there's no rush—just good vibes and great food. The restaurant needed to be a celebration of the French Quarters' tradition and cuisine, and attract families and young people of Biarritz.

The Logo

The brand identity of The Bayou was born from the rich aesthetics of New Orleans. I drew inspiration from the city's unique blend of history and culture. The alligator made of leaves - became the restaurant's emblem as a nod to the wild, untamed spirit of Cajun culture and the luxurious faune and flora of the Bayou. This symbol, combined with spicy colors and a fun typography gave the brand a fresh and distinctive look that would appeal the young people of Biarritz.

I also created a Social Media Kit including Instagram posts, Profil pictures, Stories templates, Pinned Story Icons and Facebook/Linkedin Banners to help them with their social media branding.
