Notes de Bas de Paje is a Parisian "Maison de parfumerie" founded in 2022 by two lovers of niche perfumes. The name 'Paje' is a combination of 'page' and their initials, reflecting their shared journey. In Sept. 2023, the brand introduced its debut trio of scents: Prolégomènes, Olatua, and Towédé, each encapsulating a distinctive olfactory narrative inspired by the founders individual and common life experiences.
The founders reached ou to me to create the whole brand identity of Notes de Bas de Paje. For them it needed to convey their vision of a brand offering unisex and carefully crafted scents while serving as a medium to share their personal stories inspired by art and literature.

Logotype:

I wanted to convey this idea of stories translated into scents so I draw inspiration from the visual world of books.

The primary logo features intricately cut letters recalling footnotes (notes de bas de page) - discreet but crucial details that enhance reading comprehension without disrupting the flow.

Packaging:

The packaging imitates a book, in which the perfume bottle is placed. Each fragrance has its own cover (declined on the bottle labels) like chapters in a series.

The presentation of the fragrance is written on the back cover, in the style of a book summary. When opening the packaging, the brand's manifesto is presented on the first page, welcoming us into the brand's universe before discovering the scent. The elegant and long-lasting packaging is designed to be placed in a bookshelf.

Results:

Notes de Bas de Paje has already established itself as a prominent player in the niche fragrance market, securing a place in the luxury perfume section of Printemps in Paris. This success is driven by its distinctive packaging and refined storytelling, which have led to strong sales. The brand has also captured an international audience with corners niche boutiques worldwide, including Amsterdam, Tokyo, Prague, London, and Melbourne. Always looking ahead, Notes de Bas de Paje is already working on new projects and collaborations to diversify its offerings and write the next chapters of its story.
