We started by reviewing Gail's situation and the things causing her the most trouble.
I then provided her with project management training and templates, explaining the importance of documenting the expectations up front.
I provided her with a one page project agreement template that she then used to gather the clients wishes, expectations and time constraints.
This helped her create clarity up front, not only for herself, but also for the client.
It meant she could ask questions that she hadn't been to be very clear on what the client wanted.
