The Project

The ATT Live Arena was a fan activation space at the NCAA March Madness tournament, sponsored by AT&T. The arena featured a massive wall-mounted screen behind the hoop, running real-time interactive content throughout the event.

The Challenge

AT&T needed a system that could power a full-size LED wall with live, interactive content during one of the most-watched sporting events in the US. The content had to be responsive, real-time, and rock-solid. No buffering, no crashes, no excuses. Thousands of fans would be watching, and the screen was literally behind the hoop during live play.

What I Built

I designed and developed the entire interactive display system using Rive for real-time animations, building:
Interactive leaderboards that updated live as games progressed
Countdown timers synced to game events and activations
Live score updates pulling real-time data and rendering it with smooth animated transitions
Timed messages triggered at specific moments during gameplay and breaks
Everything was built to run at full resolution on a large-format LED wall, meaning performance wasn't optional. Every animation had to be lightweight, every state change had to be seamless, and the whole system had to run for hours without a hiccup.

The Result

Thousands of games played. Zero glitches. The system ran flawlessly across the entire tournament, handling live data, audience interaction, and continuous animation without a single failure. The project demonstrated that Rive could power broadcast-quality, real-time interactive experiences at scale.

What the client had to say

Ilya was a fantastic partner on our NCAA Final Four activation. His Rive work looked and performed great across a large-format LED environment, and he brought strong technical skill, flexibility, and care to the project.
