The brand

We worked with the team at ReflexAI and Google.org to create a multi-award-winning application that provides helpful content and a safe space for veterans to practice discussing sensitive topics using AI.
We created the logo, brand, website, and the end-to-end user experience.
We also worked with the team at Google.org to conduct initial interviews of over 600 vets to inform the content, experience, and overall brand.
We developed this logo, which combines elements of messaging and a flag to visualize the overall goal and demographic of HomeTeam. This logo was bold and strong to represent the strong and courageous veterans who would be using this platform. We wanted to make sure it looked trustworthy and not too playful or techy.

The application

It was important to offer accessible ways of consuming the content. There is a video that discusses the material, but we also included an interactive text-based option to support those who are hard of hearing or just prefer to watch the scrolling text vs a video.
Through product research, we knew mobile usage would be very high from the start, so we ensured a simple and clean mobile experience so users could focus on the actual content, without getting overwhelmed by the amount of options, nav items, and other resources. But everything was easily accessible when they needed it via menu buttons and in-the-moment actions.
The chat simulation was the real hero of this application. It's powered using AI and allows veterans to practice what they've learned in a safe-yet-realistic space. So we wanted the chat interface to mimic chat interfaces you might find in messaging platforms, while still allowing users to provide feedback on the AI's responses if they were unhelpful, confusing, or harmful.
