Zova Apparel is a fictional streetwear brand targeting Gen Z consumers in urban markets. This was a self-initiated spec project to demonstrate my video editing process and CapCut workflow.
The Brief
The goal was to create a 60-second Instagram Reel that captures Zova's brand energy — bold, fast-paced, and unapologetically street. The video needed to work without sound (captions) and hook viewers in the first 3 seconds.
What I Did
Scripted the concept — wrote a short punchy script built around the hook: "Wear the city. Own the block."
Edited in CapCut — cut 12 raw clips down to a tight 60-second sequence with beat-synced transitions
Added captions — styled on-screen text to match the brand's bold aesthetic
Color grading — applied a high-contrast, desaturated look to give the footage a gritty urban feel
Background music — selected a royalty-free hip-hop track and synced cuts to the beat
Tools Used
CapCut (editing, captions, color grading, transitions)
Notion (project brief and shot list planning)
Result
A 60-second brand reel ready for Instagram, optimized for silent autoplay with bold captions and a hook in the first 3 seconds.
