Project overview

Orbiwatch is my own product, live at orbiwatch.com since 30 October 2026. I made it for space companies, agencies and educators who want to show their satellite to the people they work with: its orbit, its path over the ground, a pass over a place, a day of coverage, or a whole constellation.
You can take it two ways. A live embed for your website or a screen, or a video you export for a deck, a launch or a post.

Always today's orbit

The live embed keeps itself up to date. Every time it loads, it reads the latest orbital data from CelesTrak and works out where your satellite is right now. Next month it shows next month's passes, and nobody has to touch it.

The brand

I drew the mark as the O of the wordmark with one arc of orbit above it. It's built on a single module, the width of the ring's stroke: the ring, the gap and the arc are each one module wide, and the arc spans exactly 90°. The O sits on the baseline and reaches the ascender with the same overshoot as the bowl of the b, so mark and word read as one.
On a dark screen the mark lights up as an eclipse: an ivory ring, a terracotta arc and a warm corona. I carried that light through the site, the Studio and the launch film.

Making it in the Studio

You pick the satellite, the place and the story, then press play. Australian missions sit at the top, including Kanyini, South Australia's first state-funded satellite, and Fleet Space's Centauri satellites. You can find any other satellite by name or NORAD number, and pick any place by clicking the globe.
The stories are the orbit, the ground track over a paper map, a pass overhead tonight, a day of coverage and the constellation. Then you make it yours: your name, your colour and your logo, with a preview on a website, a phone, a TV or a kiosk.

Turn it, zoom it, speed it up

You can turn the globe, zoom in, run time at 60 or 600 times speed, and scrub through the next day. I drew the globe off the main thread, so the page stays quick while it plays. The site grows as one picture from a phone to a 2400 px screen, and the marketing pages score 98 to 100 for performance and 100 for accessibility on PageSpeed Insights.

Tonight's sky

I make the daily posts in the same look. This one is the Southern Taurids over Adelaide on 5 November 2026: the night from Windy Point, the meteor shower at its peak, and the space station's pass from the Orbiwatch Studio. It ends where the logo begins, with the station sliding into Earth's shadow and the eclipse igniting at that point.

Embed it or export it

The embed is live. You enter your website's domain, copy the embed code and paste it into your page. It's licensed to your domain, and every time it loads it works the orbit out again from fresh data. Visitors can turn the globe and speed up time.
Display mode is the same live view for a lobby TV, a kiosk or an event screen. You set it up with one link, and it rotates through your satellites and stories on its own for weeks.
The export is a video. You pick 16:9, 9:16, 4:5 or 1:1, and the Studio renders a 1080p MP4 of the story you chose, with your branding, from that day's orbital data. It's a normal video file for a deck, YouTube or a social post.

The launch film

I directed a 47-second launch film in 4:3 and 4:5. It's made with Orbiwatch from live orbital data, with the real Studio showing each step.

The outcome

The Orbiwatch brand: mark, wordmark, colour, type and motion
The marketing site, with place pages for seven regions
The Studio, from satellite to finished film in four steps
The film engine that works out each orbit from live data
Live embeds licensed to your domain, display mode and video export
Accounts with authenticator sign-in, checkout and orders
The launch film in 4:3 and 4:5
You can have your satellite on your website, a screen or in your deck the same afternoon, and the live embed keeps up with the orbit on its own.

Thank you

Thank you for reading. I started Orbiwatch here in Adelaide, home of the Australian Space Agency, for the people who show a mission to investors, students and crowds.
If that's you, open the Studio at orbiwatch.com. And if you have a product like this in mind, let's work together: vladkutepov.com/contact

Live satellite embeds and mission videos, made in minutes from today's orbital data. I designed the product, the brand and the Studio.
