Inglot E-commerce App UI Design for Mexico Expansion

Project Overview

I partnered with Inglot on their expansion to Mexico, creating a bold proposition for their new E-commerce application UI. The goal was to simplify the shopping experience, strengthen customer loyalty, and offer a truly premium journey that encouraged repeat purchases.
By blending UX research with a modern, elegant design, the app was built to stand out as an engaging platform that drives customer retention and higher conversions.

The Challenge

Most users hesitate to download brand-specific apps. For this reason, the experience and value proposition had to be extraordinary. The application needed to deliver unique, enjoyable features that users would want to return to again and again. The target was 3x higher conversion rate compared to the standard online store.

The Process

Step 1: Research & Discovery
I conducted extensive market research, analyzing top e-commerce apps globally and identifying which UX flows achieved the highest engagement. I also uncovered key customer pain points, such as:
Overwhelming catalog navigation (users feel lost in large product ranges).
Cumbersome checkout processes (causing cart abandonment).
Lack of personalization (users feel disconnected from the brand).
Step 2: Visual Design & Branding
The visual identity needed to feel modern, elegant, and beautiful. I went with the Inglot's brand colours that I then enhanced with matte makeup inspired colours.
Pairing it with Product Sans typography I managed to create a minimalist aesthetic with a luxury feel. Finally I added prototyping features to help developers better understand the flow of the application.

Design Goals

Intuitive Navigation: Seamless flows to find products quickly and discover new items effortlessly.
Engaging UX Features: Introduced rarely seen, loyalty-driven features designed to keep users coming back.
Elegant UI: A premium, editorial-inspired look and feel that resonates with beauty enthusiasts.

The Result

The final product delivered both visual beauty and outstanding functionality. Based on benchmarks from similar applications, the design is projected to:
Achieve 3x higher conversion rates.
Generate 75% returning customers.
Reduce customer acquisition costs by 35%.
This project positioned Inglot for a stronger foothold in the LATAM market, turning the app into not just a sales channel, but a brand experience.
