GenPPT is an AI PowerPoint generator tool made to help businesses and professionals present their ideas effortlessly. It’s often described as ChatGPT for presentations.
When the founder first approached me, he made it clear he needed a website redesign that was professional, great for SEO, and would convert visitors. This became the main goal for the project.
Challenge
The previous GenPPT website was made with a very basic boilerplate template. However, GenPPT still had a specific color/brand guideline that they wanted to keep intact for the redesign.
Around the time of the project, GenPPT’s had limited features and were still receiving updates. So the amount of visuals on the project I could show was very limited. I had to make use of everything I was given.
Design Process
Step 1: Competitor + Audience Research
The goal was to make GenPPT stand out from the crowd, so I did research on competitors who offered similar services.
This included going through their reviews and seeing which aspects their users liked/disliked, all in an effort to figure out what to include to win over visitors on the GenPPT landing page.
Step 2: App Walkthrough
I was given full access to the GenPPT app itself so I could use and get a feel of the benefits/usages of it.
I would screenshot many of the screens on the app to use for visuals on the landing page.
Step 3: Iterative + Feedback Heavy Design
I began making rough concepts + draft wireframes for various sections of the landing page.
Every 24-48 hours I would send GenPPT an update to gain their feedback as progress went.
Step 4: Finalized Design
With a few changes made here and there, the design was finished and the Figma file was shared/handed off to GenPPT.
Solutions
Conversion-Oriented Structure: The landing page was purposefully structured in a way that would immediately capture visitor interest and lead them to take action.
Use Case Section: GenPPT has use cases that can be applied to different niches/industries. These were highlighted to spark even more interest from audiences.
In-App Visuals: The original GenPPT had little-to-no visuals of the app itself. More visuals were included so visitors could both understand and picture themselves using the app.
Results + Conclusion
As soon as the design was implemented, GenPPT received 60+ new signups the following day. Their average daily signup rate prior was 10-30. After the redesign, the new average became 50-70 signups, from just 200 visitors per day.
GenPPT was very pleased with the final product and the consistent results that followed. Eventually me and the founder worked on more design projects together.
