Every time unique

Kurt Strehlow is a master watchmaker. He repairs and restores antique large clocks - clocks from another time, for which there are neither manuals nor spare parts. To reconstruct old, broken or missing parts, he has to understand the technology and develop his own construction processes.
Just as the watchmaker has to find new ways and techniques, the dial shown in the signet leaves its familiar circular track to find a new way. The addition of a 13th index also visualizes the additional time given to the watches by the repair. The basic form of the spiral is a reference to the Fibonacci sequence, which decodes and visualizes processes of nature mathematically. Watches do nothing else: they translate the biological or physical course of time into a mathematically or mechanically understandable representation.
The combination of a grotesque family (Geomanist, atipo foundry) and a antiqua family (Calendas, atipo foundry) reflects the character of technical or mathematical precision and manual craftsmanship. The color scheme is inspired by the green lacquer colors of the machines and the patina of old copper, which is often seen on historical watches and machines.
